The organization Heart for Africa (HfA) has a noble and sincere purpose – improving the daily life of children and adults in one of the poorest countries in the world – namely the Central African Republic (CAR).
Even though I have never been there and I neither know the place nor people there, the matter in one way or another touches something deep in my heart.
War, injustice and a wrong distribution of the goods of the world is something I have to react upon; Both as a Westerner, a European and as a person, who lives in a part of the world, where there is an abundance of especially material goods.
“You must be the change you want to see in the world,” Mahatma Gandhi said. Immediately, this sounds like much, but it does not have to be that, because if we are enough who contribute just a bit, then we can make a difference together. And making a difference is the reason why I am in the board of HfA. A strong organization in Denmark is the foundation of strong work in the CAR. I would like to contribute to continually developing that in the organization Heart for Africa.
I graduated as an architect at the Aarhus School of Architecture in 2001 and now work in the private sector as an architect, primarily with development tasks. I am 48 years old and I live in Randers. Moreover, I am married to Kirsten and I have 3 children in the ages of 23, 21 and 19 years old.
